WATERSIDERS THROUGHOUT PACIFIC P.A. WELLINGTON, Dec. 4, Steps towards unity and solidarity among waterside workers on -the Pacific were now being taken, said Mr T. Hill, secretary of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Union, reporting to-day on the biennial conference of the union. Mr Hill said that in discussion with the union’s Australian comrades steps would, be taken to draw up a programme and policy which would be of the. greatest value to their brothers of the Pacific waterfronts, irrespective of their colour. The biennial conference of the New Zealand. Waterside Workers’ Union concluded to-day. The president, Mr H. Barnes, • said the conference had endorsed the policy pursued by .the union, over the last two years.
