SCOUT AND CUB NOTES

All troops and cup packs will close during the week ending December 13. With permission from County Commissioner Widdowson, troops and packs may camp during Christmas and New Year - holidays. The attention of scouters is drawn to the rule governing swimming and boating. Scoutmasters and cubmasters will meet at St. Paul’s Hall next Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. Sandford certificates have been received for Patrol Leaders J. P. Widdowson and F. M. Maynard. District Scoutmaster S. Kinder left England by the Rimutaka and is expected at Wellington about December 29. Scouter Kinder completed the 156th Scout Gilwell Course at Gilwell and passed with credit. The Waitaki Troop held an excellent camp at the permanent camp site at Maruakoa last week-end. Scoutmaster Moffat was in charge. The Highland group will hold its annual meetirig on December 9, at 7.30 p.m. Scouters Steel, Sullivan and Hendebourck, of the Otekaike group, and Scouters Diehl and Anderson will attend .Gilwell Courses at Tatum Park during the Christmas and New Year vacation. St. Paul’s scouts will meet at the corner of Eden and Glenn streets on December 12 to guide visitors and committee members to their camp fire. Final first class tests for this year will be held at Friendly Bay to-morrow at 9.30 a.m. Examining boards are asked to be present.
