Roi l’Or Dead The death is reported of Roi l’Or, one of the outstanding pacers of his day. He was 24 years old. He holds the record of 4min 15 2-ssec for the . Worthy Gold will probably have his next race in the Auckland Cup. He was one of the most consistent performers at the Cup meeting, being placed in each of his five starts.

Likely Favourite ‘ Jackie Guy will start from the front mark in the Auckland Cup, and his recent form entitles him to be one of the favourites. His win in the Durham Handicap at the New Zealand Cup meeting, when he recorded 4min 22 3-ssec, was an outstanding performance. He finished brilliantly to head off the Australian pacer Johnnie Lawn. Sea Max, one of the finest square trotters raced in New Zealand in recent years, has returned to Southland, where she will be given a few .more races before being rtired to the stud. Sea Max has already been mated with U. Scott, and present intentions are to produce her against the pacers in the sprint events at the Gore and Winton meetings this month. The Maxegin mare is being trained by her owner, S. Todd, at Invercargill.
