AVONDALE MEETING
HOT PURSUIT FAVOURED Special to the Daily Times AUCKLAND, Deb. 4. The weather has been fine and overcast and rain is expected to develop, but the course at Avondale dried quickly after the soaking it received last week and unless the weather becomes wet again the going should be excellent for the concluding day of the Avondale Jockey Club’s second spring meeting on Saturday. Provision has been made for divisions in three races, the Titirangi Handicap the Rosebank Handicap, and the Sapling Handicap. The field in the Sapling Handicap is below the safety number, but in the event of the stewards deeming it desirable to run the race in divisions it will be divided. Horses likely to find favour include:— 10.50: Titirangi Handicap.—First division: Double Chance. Silk Thread, Portland Bay. Second division: Prince Chat, Bouquet, Diplomat.' 11.35: Three Kings Hurdles.—Kentish, British Mint, Brantome. 12.20: Rosebank Handicap.—First division: Quick March, Distributor, Beb. "Second division: Ruling Prince, Antonio, Gildchase. 1.10: Foley Memorial Handicap.—Hot Pursuit, Foxfable, Royal .Charter. 1.55: Avondale Challenge Stakes.— Majesty, Sleepy Fox. Shirley Fox. 2.40: Sapling Handicap.—First division: High Power, Maricrana, Second division: Jolly Lass, Tranquil Lady, Outlook. 3.25: Mount Eden Handicap.—Pelias,Master Coronach, Morocco. 4.15: Mount Roskill Handicap.—Aylesbury, Skywriter, Tamaiti Kino.
