Concluding Card for Riccarton

PROSPECTS FOR TO-MORROW

The Canterbury Jockey Club’s Cup meeting will be concluded to-morrow with another card of good fields and among the fresh horses are five from Wingatui-—Foxchase, Frances, Duvaals, Special Flight, and Gold Song. The feature events will be the Canterbury Cup and the Fendalton Handicap, the fields for which contain a number of class horses. The Canterbury Cup field may be reduced by the time the horses go to the post as Howe, Royal Tan and Indian Dawn are also engaged in the Fendalton Handicap, but the meeting of Beau le Havre and Signal Officer will arouse considerable interest. Most of the races look very open, but the horses, for which the public will probably show most favour, are:— 10.42: Port Cooper Hurdles. —Voltaire, Foreign Ways, Wane. 11.27: Irwell Handicap. —Trident, Balkis, Golden Amber. 12.12: Stonyhurst Handicap. —Thimble, Distinction, Coral Arc. 12.57: Hagley Handicap. —Blank Cheque, Primitive, Morning Watch. 1.37: Canterbury Cup.—Beau le Havre, Signal Officer, King’s Ransom. 2.22: Fendalton Handicap. —Royal Tan, Indian Dawn, Gay Stroller. 3. 7: Ashley Handicap. —The Stormovik, Spare Part, Pageantry. 3.52: Members’ Handicap. —Excellency, Lexia, Frances.
