AMPLE JUSTIFICATION

RESUMPTION OF TRADE TALKS ANGLO-SOVIET PROPOSALS Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 2. The President of the Board of Trade. Mr Harold Wilson, stated in the House of Commons to-day that it had been agreed to resume the trade talks with the Soviet Union which were suspended in July. He is leaving to-mor-row for Moscow.

The abundant justification for the new Anglo-Russian trade talks, says The Times in a leader, is that if the right terms can be arrived at both countries will gain in more ways than one. Good business is .good politics, the paper adds. The Daily Herald’s diplomatic correspondent says Mr Wilson hopes to return to London after reaching an agreement in principle, leaving the experts who accompany him to work out the details in Moscow.
