ST. JAMES THEATRE
“The Egg and I.” Betty MacDonald's best-seller, heads the programme which will be screened to-morrow at the St. James Theatre, with Claudette Colbert and Fred Mac Murray in the starring roles of Betty and Bob. The story gives an hilarious account of a honeymooning couple’s struggle to make a living on a mountain-wilderness chicken ranch. Miss Colbert, as the farmer's wife who literally works her fingers to the bone attempting to “ hew a living out of solid rock,” was never more happily cast. The same may be said of Fred Mac Murray as the obtuse husband who is blandly unaware that his wife is working herself to death. The Kettle family, one of the features of the book, is headed in the picture by Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride.
