2nd N.Z.E.F. ASSOCIATION

EXECUTIVE MEETING At the fortnightly executive meeting of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association Messrs E. Tibbetts (chairman), Jamieson, Gilbert Austin, Paul, Hutchison, Bingham, Henwood, Hudson, Wood and Sherriff were present. The secretary stated that 51 new applications for membership had been received for November. It was noted that the association’s memorial shield, which was rowed for between the Otago and North End Boat Clubs, was won by the North End Club.

A challenge from the Invercargill Association to play an annual cricket match for a special memorial shield was accepted. Mr Gilbert moved that an application be made to the City Corporation for special stickers to be issued for war amputees’ cars, thus exempting them from the parking regulations. Considerable discussion resulted in a unanimous agreement to the proposal. It was pointed out that some men suffered extreme difficulties under the existing regulations.
