RUSSIA RESPONDS TO CZECH APPEAL FOR FOOD

Rec. 11 p.m. PRAGUE, Dec. 2. The Czech Premier. Mr Klement Gottwald, announced that Mr Stalin, responding to an appeal for assistance, arranged that Russia will double the bread and grain shipments promised under the Russo-Czech trade agreement. Czechoslovakia now expects to receive 600,000 tons of bread and grains, of which 400,000 tons will be wheat.
