SUBSIDY TO CONTINUE
WOOLLEN MANUFACTURERS DECISION BY GOVERNMENT Special to tho Daily Times , WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. 'The Government has agreed to continue the payment of a subsidy to woollen manufacturers to cover the increased cost of wool bought at auction. A subsidy estimated to cost £300,000 was granted in June, of last year to the manufacturers, with the understanding that it would be reviewed in November. When the subject came forward for' review recentlythe Government agreed to continue payment. A fixed price level has been determined. above which the subsidy will be granted. If prices continue as high at auction as they have begun this season, the total amount of the subsidy will be considerably in excess of the amount paid last "year.
