CHANGES IN CONTROL SIR LEONARD ISITT NOW CHAIRMAN P.A. AUCKLAND, Dec. 2. The resignations of Mr A. E. Rudder, chairman of Tasman Airways, Ltd., and of Sir Fergus McMaster, a member of the board were announced tonight after a directors’ meeting In Auckland. Sir Leonard Isitt has been appointed chairman to succeed Mr Rudder, and Sir Keith Smith and Mr W. C. Taylor, two Australian representatives, have been appointed to the board.

Mr T. A. Barrow, of Wellington, was reappointed vice-chairman, and Mr A. R. Cutler, Australian High Commissioner in New Zealand, was appointed alternative Australian director. Sir Leonard Isitt, former chief of the New Zealand Air Staff, is the present chairman of New Zealand National Airways Corporation, Sir Keith Smith was, with his brother the late Sir Ross Smith, the pioneer of the first England

to Australia flight in 1919. He has represented Vickers, Ltd., in Australia since 1924.

Mr Taylor, vice-chairman of Australian National Airlines Commission since 1946, is also vice-chairman of Qantas Empire Airways, Ltd. Mr Rudder is the representative in Australia and New Zealand of British Overseas Airways Corporation. He is vice-chairman of Qantas Empire Airways, Ltd., and a director of several other companies. Sir Fergus McMaster, founder and first and present chairman of Qantas, is a well-known Australian grazier whose active association with commercial aviation extends back to 1920.
