P.A. WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. What is in effect a “ brighter Christmas ” circular has been sent to power boards and electric supply authorities by the Electricity Controller, Mr T. M. Kissel. What he authorises is entirely at the discretion of local supply authorities, who must still keep within their quotas. The authorities, subject to the conditions mentioned, are permitted, until further notice, to lift restricions on the interior lighting of shops, to allow the. lighting of windows between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., and to relax the restrictions on street and underveranda lighting. There will be no relaxation of the ban on Neon lighting, interior or exterior.
