NAPIER WOOL SALES FULL CLEARANCE OF ALL OFFERINGS PA.. NAPIER, Dec. 1. A full clearance at advanced prices resulted at Napier to-day when the first main sale of the season was patronised by a large representative muster of buyers. Opening bids were from 6d to Is better than the November opening last year. This pace was maintained throughout a day of solid, selling. Bidding was by no ipeans limited to one section as at the crutching sale a group of Continental firms, notably French and to lesser extent Belgian, interests monopolised the bidding for stylish wools, but New Zealand mills had extended limits as well and purchased many of the topprice lines. „ Bradford operated spasmodically but less so when a market was required for average style wools. The official report issued by the Hawke s Bay Woolbrokers’ Association states the bidding was fairiy general. The report adds that Continental and local mills dominated the market for finer sorts. Average style wool sold on a par with recent sales, but bidding was inclined to be rather erratic. There was practically a total clearance of all catalogues.
