WEDDING AT MILTON
Buschl-Hayes
The wedding of Kathleen Sheila, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs ,F. Hayes, of Milton, to Stanley Michael, only son of Mrs and the late Mr F. Buschl, of Mapua, was celebrated with Nuptial Mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral recently. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Spillane, of Palmerston, and during the service solos were sung by Miss Pat Woods, who sang Ave Maria ” and “ Panis Angelicus. The organist was Miss L. Comer. \
The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr Frank Hayes, wore' a charming gown of white cloque. The tightfitting bodice was finished with tiny buttons. A full skirt, inset with satin, flowed into a long train. Her beauti-fully-embroidered veil, lent by the bridegroom’s mother, was held in place with a coronet of crange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of arum lilies, white roses, freesias and asparagus fern. Attending the bride were her two sisters—Misses Dorothy and Frances Hayes. They were dressed alike in iceblue nylon, made with long-fitting bodices and fully-gathered skirts. Their shoulder-length veils were held in place with sprays of flowers which matched their bouquets of carnations, tulips and asparagus fern. The flower girl was Hazel Green, of Milton, who wore a blue silk frock with fitting bodice and full skirt. She carried a posy of carnations and tulips and wore a matching spray in her hair. Mr B. Hoben, of Culverden, attended as best man, and the groomsman was Mr J. Cameron, of Milton. The reception was held at the Caledonian Club, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a navy ensemble with matching accessories and a shoulder spray to tone. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother wearing a tailored suit of black and white check, black accessories, and a toning shoulder spray. The Rev. Father Spillane presided at the reception, where Miss Pat Woods, accompanied by Miss Comer, entertained with several vocal items. The bride travelled in a tailored rust suit with matching accessories. After a motoring tour of the Lakes district the young couple will make their future home at Mapua, Nelson.
