POOR MORALE
INDIAN ARMY : HAMPERED CLASH WITH TRIBESMEN NEW DELHI, Nov. 30. The Hindustan Times, which usually gives the rosiest picture of > Indian Army operations, said supply difficulties and lack of co-operation among the local population and poor morale among the troops had brought the army in Kashmir to a standstill. Most of the Indian troops are from West Punjab, and are, presumably, Sikh refugees, who are worried because they do not know the whereabouts of their kith and kin. An Indian Army patrol clashed with 400 raiding tribesmen 20 miles west of Akhnur, says Reuter's Jammu correspondent. The patrol killed 30 and wounded 50 tribesmen. All civilians have now been, evacuated from Kotli, which is still within range of the raiders' guns in the hills.
