SERIOUS INDICTMENT
PRESENT GREEK GOVERNMENT 'SAN FRANCISCO, Rec. 7.30 p.m. Nov. 30. The present Government of Greece had all the elements of Fascism and was in power because the United States and Britain were supporting it, said Colonel Alexander Sheppard, of the Australian Army, in an interview. Colonel Sheppard spent two and ahalf years in Greece with the Australian Army, Red Cross, UNRRA, the British Foreign Office, and as chief of the British Economic Mission. He said the elements of Fascism were secret police committees with * power to sentence people to exile for 10 years, suppression of trade unions inhumane prison conditions, and other atrocities. "I have seen resistance leaders beheaded at the order of the Government without a trial,” he said. “Beatings of all kinds take place daily.” If the United States and Britain would transfer their support to a liberal democratic Government, Grecee’s troubles would be over.
