TRADE BOYCOTT

THREAT TO AUSTRALIA DEPORTATION OF MALAY SEAMEN Rec. 8 p.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 1. An Australian export trade worth over £2,000,000 a year is threatened because of the Commonwealth Government’s decision to deport 14 Malay seamen. In spite of a contemplated boycott of Australian goods in Malaya, the Commonwealth Government is expected to stand by its decision. Mr Chifley is known to support the Minister of Immigration, Mr A. A. Calwell, in his action. Consideration of a “ system allowing token groups of coloured people from other countries to live in Australia is suggested by Mr A. D. Fraser (Labour).”
