NIGHT IN BUSH

MAN SEPARATED FROM COMPANIONS WRONG TRACK FOLLOWED Special to the Daily Times GREYMOUTH, Nov. 30. Becoming separated from his companions while in the bush between the Alexander and Grey Rivers on Saturday afternoon, Albert Honey, aged 63, of Paroa, near Greymouth, occasioned his three companions no little concern,* and though search parties were out later in the evening and again early this morning, he walked out of the bush on his own at Waipuna shortly after 10 o’clock. In company with his brother, George Honey, Michael McAllister and Frank Payne, of Kumara Junction, on an inspection of some silver pine bush in the vicinity of the headwaters of the Grey River, Honey became separated from his companions, and when he failed to respond to a series of calls, the other members of the party immediately made their way to Ikamatua, and a search party of 16 men, under the control of Constable A. W. Honey, of Ahaura, began a thorough comb of the bush in the vicinity, but without avail.

The party returned home at midnight, and again resumed the search at daybreak this morning. The missing man is an experienced bushman, but it was feared originally that he had met with some mishap. Honey, though naturally hungry, was none the v/orse for his experience. He had not become bushed, but had followed the wrong survey track. After making his way to the Clark River, he went to the Allan River and spent the night in a hut there.
