Rec. 9 p.m. MANILA, Nov. 27 Efforts to dissuade the Siamese delegates to the conference of the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East from returning to Siam failed. They said that not even a favourable vote on their admission to full membership privileges could alter their decision. They had “lost, face,” and could not return to the conference. It was felt that any future discussion of economic problems affecting Asia could not get far without considering Siam’s position as one of the leading rice-producing areas in this part of the world.
