BLOOD STOCK SALES
SPASMODIC BIDDING TOP PRICE FOR DEFAULTER FILLY P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 28. The combined South Island bloodstock sale -was held to-day. There was a fair attendance of buyers, but bidding was spasmodic and a number of entries were passed in. The top price was 650gns paid by agents for the two-year-old filly Debonair, by Defaulter from Bonnie Agnes, offered by the Inglewood Stud. Another filly of the same age by Salmagundi from Rhea, was purchased by A. Kyle, Christchurch, for 450gns. The top price among the racehorses offered was 310gns for the three-year-old Invest, which was purchased by A. Mclntosh, of Invercargill. Leadership was purchased bv W. Monk, Rotorua, for 275gns. Other sales, were 320gns for the brood mare Comet, with a filly foal at foot by Airway, and 300gns for Moonlit, a four-year-old sister to Wane.
