SURPRISED BENEFICIARY
PLEASANT TASK REWARDED P.A. ' WANGANUI, Nov. 27. Twenty-three years ago Mrs M. G. Taylor, of St. John’s Hill, was reading in the Wanganui Public Library when she was approached by a shy young couple with a problem. It seemed that they wanted to get married at a registry office, but had no witness. They had no relatives or friends they could ask, and they wondered if she would help. Mrs Taylor agreed, and the marriage took place. After the register had been signed the bride turned to her and said, “ You will benefit from this.” Mrs Taylor laughed, congratulated the couple, and left. She had never seen them before and she never saW them again, nor did she hear of thejn until the other day, when she received advice through the Public Trusteq that she was a beneficiary in their estate. The amount of the bequest is as yet unknown.
