FUSION OPPOSED

BRITISH LIBERAL PARTY Rec 10 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 27. The Liberal Party, in a “ declaration of independence,” issued last night, opposes any fusion with the Conservatives, which, it says, would only consolidate the Socialists in power. "We will neither abandon our independence nor our determination to contest the next general election as an independ ent party.” the declaration said. It warned Liberals throughout the country to stand firm against Conservaitve overtures and urged them “to fight on—-sustained by the conviction that a world in which the voice of independent Liberalism is not heard must inevitably end in disaster.”
