OWNERSHIP OF PAMIR
FINLAND’S CLAIM WAIVED
CLAUSE IN PEACE TREATY P.A. WELLINGTON, Nov, 27.
Regulations dealing with the peace treaty between Finland and New Zealand are gazetted to-night. Under the treaty. Finland waives all claims against the Allied . and associated Powers on behalf of the Finnish Government or nationals arising as a result of the recent war in Europe. An interesting clause in the schedule : attached to the regulations as it may affect the former Finnish barque Pamir, which is now under New Zealand Government control, states that the waiver of claims by Finland includes any claims arising out of actions taken by any of the Allied and associated Powers with respect to Finnish ships between September 1, 1939, and the coming into force of the present treaty, as well as any claims and debts arising out of the convention on prisoners of war now in force.
