LIME SUBSIDY SCHEME
RETROSPECTIVE OPERATION DIFFICULT
CURRENT DEALINGS NOTED
Parliamentary Reporter WELLINGTON, Nov. 27. It was not administratively practicable to agree to making any lime subsidy scheme which might be agreed upon introspective to the date when the original scheme was withdrawn, replied the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr Nordmeyer, to Mr W. K. Gillespie (Oppn., Hurunui) in the House of Representatives to-day. The Minister added that the Government had agreed, however, that any lime subsidy which might be put into operation would be made retrospective to November 24* and it had taken appropriate steps with the lime companies to keep a record of mileages where lime was carted and the railage costs incurred.
