Churchill Stakes at Riccarton
BEAU LE HAVRE FAVOURITE
The New Zealand Cup meeting will be continued tomorrow when the features of another good card will be the Metropolitan Handicap and the Churchill Stakes. With King’s Ransom and Howe engaged in other races, the field of six engaged in the Churchill Stakes may be even smaller than that, but interest is centred in the meeting of two champions, Beau le Havre and Soneri.
No fewer than 57 of the 128 acceptors for the eight events to-morrow are fresh horses, and so there is the prospect of more big dividends.
The favourites may be selected from the following:— 10.42: Suburban Handicap.—Broie, Beechwood, Wane.
11.22: Churchill Stakes.—Beau le Havre, Soneri, Distinction
12.7 : Pioneer Handicap.—Trident-Robin Redbreast bracket, Musselman, Balkis.
12.52: Seymour Handicap.—Primitive; Coral Arc, Morning Watch
1.37: New Zealand Oaks Stakes.—Miss Bairnsfather, Lucy Bian, Excellency.
2.22: Metropolitan Handicap.—Signal Officer, King’s Ransom, Eriskay. 3.7 : Otaio Plate.—Spare Part, Fine Night, Pageantry. 3.52: Jockey Club Handicap.—lndian Dawn, Voltaic, Howe.
