COW HIDES FOR EXPORT P.A. WELLINGTON, Nov. 27. As a result of further increases in the overseas prices for light cow hides, the Hides Committee, at a meeting to-day, raised the export levy rate on freezer, abattoir, and country butcher standard under 401 b cow hides from 15d to 19d per lb, to operate on all hides purchased for export as from Monday. The first return to the producer is not affected by the increase, as the minimum floor price gives full protection in terms of the Economic Stabilisation Commission’s direction, the committee states.
