STATUTORY MEETINGS

The statutory lirst meetings of the newly-elected Borough Councils of Port Chalmers, West Harbour, St. Hilda, Green Island and Mosgiel were held last night. Deputy Mayors nominated and committees formed were:— ST. HILDA Deputy Mayor.—Cr J. H. Hinton. Works Committee.—Crs Finnie (chairman) and whole council. Finance—Crs Simpson (chairman), Rendel, Brent and Shepherd. Reserves.—Crs Roy (chairman) and McKenzie. _ ... Halls,—Crs Rendel (chairman), Braithwaite, Adam and Hinton. Drainage Board Representatives.—Crs Brent and McKenzie. It was decided to hold council meetings every third Monday, instead of each fortnight as was done previously. PORT CHALMERS Deputy Mayor.—Cr H. S. Watson. Works Committee.—Crs Forgie (chairman), Reeves and Austin. Water and Gas.—Crs Campbell (chairman), Smith and Williamson. General. Crs Watson (chairman), Knewstubb, Bayliss and Neilson.
