HOUSING CONSTRUCTION IN BRITAIN N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent Rec. 10 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 26. The largest number of permanent houses constructed in England and Wales since January. 1946, when the statistics commenced, was built dur • ing October. Over 15.000 houses were completed during the month and 17,000 new houses started, making a totai of 261,826 houses under construction. Temporary or permanent accommodation has been provided for over 500,000 people since the end of the war.
