Weakened Goldina was made favourite for the Visitors’ Handicap at Hutt Park, but after having every chance he failed to finish on and was well back when the post was reached. Thrilling Finish Wedding Ring led for most of the journey in the visitors Handicap at Hutt Park, and it was only by the narrowest of margins that she was beaten by King’s Messenger and Captain Sandy in a thrilling finish. The Gold Bar mare will show a big improvement before the season is finished.
By Casanova King’s Messenger, the winner of the Visitors’ Handicap at the. Wellington meeting, is one of G. S. Smith’s team at Addington, and is an aged gelding by Casanova from Secret Service, by Great Audubon from Incognito, by Our Thorpe from a Prince Imperial mare. An Easy Win Belmoral was having his first race since ho went into C. R. Berkett’s stable when he won the Silverstream Handicap at Hutt Park. The Worthy Belwin gelding, who had a very easy win, was got from Bessie Bingen, by Nelson Bingen from Beithabell, by. Peter the Great, so that he has the breeding to carry him into the tighter classes. Last season his record was two wins and a second in eight starts.
