“VIOLENTLY ANTI-BRITISH” ENCYCLOPAEDIA PUBLICATION N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent Rec. 10 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 25. Attention has been drawn to what is considered a violently anti-British article on Zionism which appears as an appendix to the Encyclopaedia Britannica. The article appears in the “ Brilannica Book for the Year 1947,” prepared under the direction of Mi Walter Yust, editor of the Encyclopaedia, and published as an appendix to it The article, of which the author .is F.abbi Israel Goldstein, of New York, chairman of the World Zionist Federation, alleges that British military forces turned Palestine, into a police State, and that some of them behaved with barbaric cruelty. A member of the staff of the Encyclopaedia stated he could not explain how the article in question “slipped through.” Two thousand copies of the book have already been sent to subscribers in Britain.,
