CLAIMS BEFORE RAILWAYS TRIBUNAL

P.A. WELLINGTON, Nov. 25. The Government Railways Industrial Tribunal continued the hearing of an application by the general manager of railways, Mr J. Sawers, in respect of the payment of allowances for work of more than an ordinarily dirty nature. The tribunal reserved its decision. The Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants put forward a claim that all employees in the moulding and fitting shops should be granted an allowance of 2d an hour. Further hearing' of the application was deferred till Friday, when the tribunal will also hear an application for additional holidays.
