GIFT FOR PRINCESS
The rug which has been sent to Princess Elizabeth as Dunedin’s wedding gift is a notable example of local workmanship. It was manufactured in the Roslyn Mills, and its association with Dunedin is clearly indicated by the city’s coat of arms embroidered on it. The embroidery was the work of members of the staff of the gown manufacturing department, of Ross and Glendining, Ltd., in Stafford street. They take a natural pride in their part in the preparation of the gift.
