BRIDE IN SILVER LAME
The residence of Mrs J. C. Fogarty, 39 Easther crescent, Kew, was the scene of the wedding of Jan, only daughter of Mrs and the late Mr William Crossan, Dunedin, to Charles, younger son of Mr and Mrs A. C. Sherriff, St. Kilda. The Rev Charles Sullivan performed the ceremony The bride, who was escorted by her brother Mr W J. Crossan, was gowned in silver lame, designed on period lines, with a slight bustle back, long, full sleeves caught into a tight cuff,- and an unusual shoulder cape finishing in long pointed peaks at the front. She wore a hat of silver lame, white veiling, and feathers, and carried a Victorian posy of shot silk roses. The matron of honour, Mrs J. C. Fogarty, wore a deep cyclamen lame frock, with a very full skirt, tight bodice, and puffed sleeves. A matching band of feathers in her hair and a Victorian posy completed her ensemble. The best man was Mr Robert Sherriff brother of the bridegroom. The bride’s going-away suit was the new shade, neyron rose, trimmed with burgundy, with matching accessories Over this she wore a golden fitch fur' coat. Owing to the ill-health of the bride’s mother, the guests were received by Mrs Mary Cooper and Mrs A. C. Sherriff, mother of the bridegroom.
