FATAL ACCIDENT

STRUCK BY MOTOR CYCLE DEATH IN HOSPITAL Serious head injuries which were followed by his death in hospital several hours later were suffered yesterday by Nicholas Burke, a Corporation Transport trackman, single, aged 59, of 35 Waverley street, South Dunedin. The accident occurred on Anderson’s Bay road at 7.40 a m. when Burke was struck by a motor cycle ridden by William James Stevenson, a carpenter, employed by Mitchell Bros. On admission to hospital Burke’s condition was described as serious, and death occurred in the early afternoon. An inquest will be opened to-day, when evidence of identification will be heard.
