Two tablets should be used for each quart jar. “Curious.” Pine Hill.—(1) To remove iodine stains apply a solution of pure sodium hyposulphite and then strong ammonia water by means of blotting paper; remove excess by pressing between sheets of bibulous paper moistened with water, and dry between clean, warm (dry) bloting pads. lodine stains may also be removed by alcohol. (2) Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten has three sisters and no brothers. The sisters are Princess Margaret, Princess Theodora, and Princess Sophia. Another sister, Princess Cecilia, was killed in an accident in 1937. (3) One authority gives the height of Princess Elizabeth as sft 4in, and another as sft, 6in. Queen Elizabeth is sft 4in tall and the late Queen Victoria was 5 feet in height. Our records do not give the height of the Duke of Windsor. (4) Next year, 1948, is the centenary of the Provincial District of Otago and the centenary lasts the whole of ’the year, although the main celebrations will be held in the first few months. “X, Y, Z,” Dunedin.—Pat Keogh wasj a half-back in the native team that' toured England in 1888-89.
