King’s Messenger is due to get some place money before long and he may pay expenses at Wellington. Likely can be ticked off as an early winner. The Grattan'-Loyal mare is engaged at Wellington. Racing Solidly Dandy Grattan finished a close third in the Shirley Handicap at Addington after leading for most of the journey. V. Alborn has him racing solidly now and he should pay expenses at Wellington. An Improver Lady Diane is an improver who should return to the winning list before long. Last season, as a three-year-old, she was raced 12 times for two wins and three placings. The U. Scott mare is trained by W. R. Butt and she will not be neglected in the betting on the Wainui Handicap at Wellington. Should be Prominent Taking a line through the form he showed to finish second to Worthy Gold in the New Zealand Intermediate Sprint Handicap at Addington, Logan Rey should be prominent in the Dominion Handicap at Hutt Park. He went 2min 41 3-ssec from a 2.45 mark at Addington and he is on the same mark on Saturday Brother to Wiimers V/est Point, the five-year-old brother to Indigo and Plunder Bar, is engaged in the Woburn Handicap at the Wellington meeting on Saturday. Last season he was started 13 times and his only placing was a second to Gay Note in a division of the Seadown Handicap at the ,Timaru meeting in March. Improving Trotter At the Oamaru meeting on Labour Day Laureate trotted two good races, finishing fourth to Dame Durdin, Tatsydale, and Flame in the Introductory Handicap and second to Lucky Bill in the Waitaki Handicap. Thpse performances point to the Lusty Volo mare as a prospect for the Silverstreaffi Handicap at Wellington. £
