CUP HORSES IN TRIAL RUNS Special to the Daily Times CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 19. Broiefield, Langue d’Or, Welcome Guest, Desert Fox, Sea Form, and Nanaaki have arrived from the North Island, wihile J. A. Wilson is here from Wingatui with Lord Dundonald, Lorna Leigh, and Detain. They were at the track this morning, all in good order. Broiefield and Langue d’Or were mates in a gallop over seven furlongs on the plough, the former finishing in front in lmin 34 3-ssec. Golden Amber and Top Deck, two local candidates for the Welcome Stakes, were given a half-mile sprint on the trial grass track. They went with great dash, Golden Amber drawing out at the finish to be two lengths .in front in 47 2-ssec. The four-year-old Penetrate, by De-faulter-Lady Burleigh, has been sold to Mr A. Sole, of Sydney. He has been enjoying a rest since he won a race at the North Canterbury meeting last month and he will be shipped to Australia after Christmas. • , _ Mr H D. Greenwood has sold the five-year-old gelding Thornbridge, by Foxbridge—Rose Latour, to the Otago owner, Mr A Ferguson, and it is reported that he will join H. A. Anderton's stable at Wingatui. Thornbridge has been spelling since January, but early last season he won two races in open company, giving evidence of good prospects as a stayer. The three-year-old Erinborough will not race at the New Zealand Cup meeting. He ran well at Motuksrara £st month, but his effort at North Canterbury two days later knocked him out. As a result, J. S. Shaw has sent him home for a spell. He was operated on for wind trouble after showing good form last season, and as it seems to have been a success, he should win more races later

on. The Southland gelding Aganev was an. acceptor for two races on Saturday. He will miss the New Zealand Cup, and will run in the Riccarton Handicap. The three-year-old filly Regal Gem was scratched for her Riccarton engagements at 9 a.m. to-day.
