ABOLITION OF SEPARATE DEPARTMENT Parliamentary Reporter WELLINGTON, Nov. 18. The establishment of a division of mental hygiene of the Department of Health is provided for in the Health Amendment Bill, which was introduced in the House of Representatives to-day. The Bill, which was read a second time pro forma and referred to the Public Health Committee, states that from the passing of the legislation the Mental Hospitals Department shall cease to be a separate department of State, and shall be the division of mental hygiene. The former title of the Director-general of Mental Hpspitals will be changed to that of Director of the division of mental hygiene.
