Gore T.C, Jottings Integrity’s stake winnings now total £17,557. Lone Raider should pay expenses if he is taken to the Hutt Park meeting. Clonard, a winner at Invercargill on Saturday, is now 10 years old. He was got by Jack Potts from an Early Harvester mare. Improved with Racing Great Venture improved with racing at the Metropolitan meeting and the Lusty Volo trotter should win a race before long. Wairio Prospect Popotai, who Is one of those on the front mark in the Nightcaps Handicap at Wairio, is a five-year-old gelding by Dillon Hall from Fashion Princess. He was started eight times last season for a second and two third placlngs. Limiting Fields
The committee of the Ashburton Trotting Club has decided that any horses who at their last seven starts have not finished first, second, third, or fourth will not be eligible for the slow-class race for pacers on its programme for the Boxing Day meeting. Fine Turn of Speed Maida Dillon lost ground at the start of the Manchester Handicap at Addington on Saturday, but once she struck her gait she pulled out a fine turn of speed. The Dillon Hall pacer should have a profitable season. Brother to Stirling Castle Sterling Hall, who is engaged in both trotting events at the Wairio meeting, is an older brother of Stirling Castle, being by Dillon Hall from Stirling Lady. Last season Sterling Hall scored one win, a 'second, a third, and a fourth in 13 starts. Elimination of Sea Max
“It is equivalent to barring the topweight from starting in the New Zealand Cup,” said S. Todd, the owner of Se 3 Max, when expressing his disapproval of the elimination of Sea Max from the New Zealand Trotting Free-for-all by the committee of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club, which reserved the right in its programme to select the field. “ Sea Max has a wonderful record in free-for-all events,,and as she is the most tightly assessed trotter in the country she has very few opportunities to race. In the circumstances it is impossible for her to have a string of recent placed performance to her credit. The mare was well and I expected her to win. I am very disappointed that she was not given a chance to start. I hardly think that it is worth while keeping her in training. The Auckland Club has a similar provision in its programme for the Inter-Dominion Championships in February and, although she is probably the best trotter in the country, she may not be allowed to start.”
