AIR PASSAGES
AUGMENTED SERVICES COMMENCED It is anticipated that the availability of air passages to and from the north will be considerably increased by the augmented service which was commenced by New Zealand National Airways yesterday. The Dakotas have been replaced on the run by additional Lodestars, and the service to Invercargill will be operated entirely by Dominie aircraft. The new service to Invercargill will permit southern residents to make the trip through to Auckarid in one day without the overnight stop in Dunedin, which was previously necessary, while the schedules to and from the north will be of great assistance to business men. Two Lodestars now leave Dunedin daily for Auckland, at 8.15 a.m. and at 11.45 a.m., and the third Lodestar leaves at 2 p.m. for Palmerston North. Lodestars from Auckland arrive at 1.40 p.m. and 3.45 p.m., with an earlier Lodestar from Palmerston North arriving at 11.20 a.m.
Dominie aircraft for Invercargill leave the Taieri Airport at 8.45 a.m., 11.30 a.m., and 2.10 p.m., the inward bound flights arriving at Taieri at 10.05 a.m., 12.50 p.m., and 3,30 p,m.
