LACK OF “SIDE”
VISITOR IMPRESSED NEW ZEALANDERS’ QUALITIES Not many English business men had had the opportunity of visiting New Zealand twice in two years, but in so doing his first impressions of the country had been confirmed, said Mr Carlton Hall, manager of the Mercantile and General Reinsurance Company, Ltd., London, who is staying at the City Hotel What had pleased him most was the friendliness of New Zealanders. “I, am one of those persons who have an intense dislike of ‘side,’ and it is refreshing to come to New Zealand,; where there is no class distinction,, and to meet with general camaraderie." Mr Hall added that the standard of living was high in New Zealand, and the service obtained was as good, if not better than, that in England. Mr Hall; who is on a business trip, will visit the other main centres, and will fly to Sydney bv air.
