Ministerial Tlie Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, was engaged in departmental business in Dunedin yesterday. He will return to Wellington to-day. Mr N. A. Ingram, of Wellington, secretary of the National Committee of Swimming and Life Saving and formerly president of the New Zealand §prf Association, is visiting Dunedin. Mr R. E. Corbett sailed on the Port Hobart to further his. studies in scientific reserch at Cambridge University. A motion of sympathy with the family of the late Mr J. H. Williamson, a former councillor, was carried at the meeting ot the Port Chalmers Borough Council last night.
