POWER BOARD CHAIRMAN
On his retirement from the position of chairman of the Waitaki Electric Power Board, Mr A. R. Tait yesterday thanked members, and especially the executive officers and. staff, for their assistance and co-operation during his term of office. There had been a great increase in the work of the board during the last three years, and but for the power restrictions he thought the trading of the board would have reached record figures. The board had a splendid staff who had carried out their , work with the greatest efficiency. Board members and the secretary (Mr C. F. Jones) and the engineer (Mr A. N. Davidson) paid high tributes to the cap-, able manner in which Mr Tait had carried out his duties, with credit to himself and satisfaction to members. They added that the harmonious relations existing on the board were due in no small measure to Mr Tait’s efficient handling of the business of the board. > ,
