BRIGHTON AMENITIES
Sir,—Soon Otago will be commencing the Centennial celebrations and visitors will be flocking from all parts of New Zealand. The interest of visitors will not be confined to the actual events, however; the city and its surrounding beauty spots offer many attractions which holidaymakers especially will take the opportun ity of visiting. Brighton is undoubtedly one of the main holiday attractions, yet the authorities responsible for its upkeep have permitted the picnicing area to deteriorate considerably so that to-day it is in a sad state of neglect. I would like to suggest that Brighton and other picnicking areas be cleared and facilities installed immediately for these areas will undoubtedly be just as important as Dunedin itself. —I am, etc.. Resident.
