DAMAGED BY FIRE

RESTAURANT AND STORE p.A. AUCKLAND, Nov. 15. A fire which broke out in the kitchen of the Centreway restaurant, Lome str-eet, swept into the upper floors, damaging stock in the restaurant storeroom and also damaging the flooring and walls of the premises in the same building occupied by W. Crosher and Sons, an electrical firm. The fire apparently occurred a considerable time before it was discovered. Firemen experienced difficulty in the intense smoke but got the blaze under control in half an hour. The damage to the restaurant premises and stock is estimated at about £BOO. An ’estimate of the electrical firm’s loss is not available yet.
