Mrs Smith-Morton, who was in the chair at the monthly meeting of the Oamaru Sub-centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, said the society had had a strenuous year, a splendid lot of clothing and food had been despatched to Britain, and the servicemen in homes and hospitals had been well looked after. The society would now go into recess and the rooms would be closed until further notice. ... . The president thanked the helpers and institutions who had forwarded parcels of clothing, food, and donations so regularly. and said that a continuance of the support would be appreciated.
