ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY
Dr E. E. Butler was in the chair at the monthly meeting of the Waitaki Acclimatisation Society on Thursday night. Mr J. Wray was appointed junior vice-presi-dent to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr A. Dun. After obtaining copies of the Otago and South Canterbury Acclimatisation Societies' diaries, it was decided to procure sufficient quantities of the South Canterbury diary for distribution among local anglers. . , Messrs Keen and Wray reported on successful shag drives held at the Kakanui and Waitaki Rivers. At the Kakanui 40 shags and a number of eggs were uestroyed, and at the Waitaki 14 adult shags. 51 young shags, and 44 eggs were destroyed.
