Awamoa “ Flour Day ”
What is probably the first women s "flour day” tournament in the Dominion, with bags of flour as trophies, was held by the Awamoa Women’s Bowling Club. Twelve fours competed, the sectional play resulting:—Miss Symington. 1 win, 3 losses, Mrs Pile, 3 wins, 1 loss, Mrsi Adams, 2 wins, 2 losses; Mrs Dick, 4 wins; Mrs Kerr, 4 losses; Mrs Sorley, 1 win, 3 losses; Mrs Rusbatch, 2 wins, 2 losses; Mrs Lawrence, 2 wins, 2 losses; Mrs Kennedy, 2 wins, 2 losses; Mrs Black. 2 wins. 2 losses; Mrs Watts, 4 wins. In the play-off Mrs Dick beat Mrs Watts, 5/2.
