DREDGE FATALITY
TRAGEDY AT LOWBURN Special to the Daily Times CROMWELL, Nov. 11. As a result of an accident on the Austral-New Zealand Mining Company’s dredge at Lowburn yesterday morning, Edwin Francis Jopson, 31, married, lost his life. He was working on the midnight to 8 a.m. shift and in the course of his duties was seen at about 7.15 a.m. going towards the end of the conveyer belt to put a dressing on the belt, which had been slipping. When the other members of the shut went off duty he was missed, and on a search being made, his body was found jammed between the top pulley and the wall protecting it. An inquest will be held to-day. The deceased leaves a wife and three young children who are living in Cromwell.
