OAMARU PRESBYTERY

MONTHLY MEETING The moderator, the Rev. G. D. Falloon, was in the chair at the monthly meeting of the Oamaru Presbytery yesterday. The Rev. L. W. Rothwell was appointed interim moderator at Weston because of the resignation of the Rev. Macßae. The following standing committees were appointed for the year:—Public Questions —the Revs. A. Marshall, I. G.. Ryburn, G. Macßae and their elders; Life and Work—the Revs. L S. Dewar and 1. G. Ryburn, and their elders; Youth—the Revs. L. W. Rothwell, A. Marshall, the Weston minister, and their elders; Missions —the Revs. A. Marshall, J. S. Pate, J. Fordyce and their elders; Finance and Property—the Revs. J. Fordyce, A. Marshall, L. W. Rothwell and their elders/ and Mr O C. Austing; Students, the Rev. C. R. Sprackctt and the Kurow minister; Statistics, Mr O. C Austing; Union—the Revs. C. R. Sprackett, J. S. Pate, the Kurow minister and their elders; Press, the Rev. I. G. Ryburn; Maintenance of the Ministry—the Revs. L. W. Rothwell, G. Macßae, A. Marshall and their elders; Synod—the Revs. L. .W. Rothwell, A. Marshall and their elders. A commission, comprising the Revs. L. W. Rothwell and A. Marshall, was set' up to investigate the situation in the Paimerston-Dunback parish. The delegates to the General Assembly, the Revs. L. W. Rothwell, L. S. Dewar, and J. Fordyce, gave interesting reports on the assembly meeting. Each spoke of the urgent need of assisting orphan children in Europe. The assembly’s plan was to bring some of these children to New Zealand, so that they could be adopted by various homes. The moderator thanked the delegates for their interesting reports
